Change authentication method xero
This article is for small businesses who use Xero. If you've forgotten your password or you've been locked out of your account after entering your password incorrectly, reset your password from the Xero login page. We'll email you a link to create a new password. The link is valid for 48 hours. If the link expires, you'll need to request a new one.
For security reasons, we don't email forgotten passwords. Check your email inbox. Once you've received our email, use the link to reset your password. If you're still waiting for our email, check your junk or spam folders.
Sometimes emails from the xero. We recommend you add these domains to your safe senders list to prevent this happening again. If you can't access your inbox due to the email account being inactive, ask your IT admin to re-activate the email address. Alternatively, contact Xero Support to verify your Xero account. You need to turn off MFA, then set it up again and choose a different backup method.

Convenience : For the Convenience level, users swipe a pre-programmed identification card at the control panel. Smart Card : For the Smart Card level, users insert a pre-programmed identification card in a card reader at the control panel. Users also type their user name and password. To use this method, purchase and install a Smart Card reader system.
For Simple, click Select. Select the method for users to identify themselves. Click OK. If a confirmation message appears that prompts you to restart the printer, click Change. For Local, click Select. User Database The user database stores user credential information. For Network, click Select. Select an authentication protocol, then click Next. Configure the authentication protocol, then click Done. In the Default Server area, for Realm, type the domain or realm for your authentication server.
For each alternate server, as needed, type the domain or realm and the server address. To remove an alternate server from the list, click the Trash icon. When you have entered information for all servers, click Done. You'll see all of the options, but you can select only the ones that are made available to you by your organization.
Notify me through app: You'll be notified through your authenticator app that you have a waiting verification prompt. Call my authentication phone: You'll get a phone call on your mobile device, asking you to verify your information. Text code to my authentication phone: You'll get a verification code as part of a text message on your mobile device. You must enter this code into the verification prompt for your work or school account.
Call my office phone: You'll get a phone call on your office phone, asking you to verify your information. Use verification code from app: You'll use your authenticator app to get a verification code you'll type into the prompt from your work or school account. You can add new phone numbers, or update existing numbers, from the Additional security verification page. Microsoft strongly recommends that you add a secondary phone number to help prevent being locked out of your account if your primary phone is lost or stolen, or if you get a new phone and no longer have your original, primary phone number.
From the How would you like to respond? Select the box next to the Alternate authentication phone option, and then type in a secondary phone number where you can receive phone calls if you can't access your primary device.
If you already set up your work or school account in the Microsoft Authenticator app, you don't need to do it again. Follow the on-screen instructions, including using your mobile device to scan the QR code, and then select Next.
You'll be asked to approve a notification through the Microsoft Authenticator app, to verify your information. You can delete your account from the Microsoft Authenticator app, and you can delete your device from your work or school account. Typically you delete your device to permanently remove a lost, stolen, or old device from your account, and you delete your account to try to fix some connection issues or to address an account change, such as a new user name.
From the Microsoft Authenticator app, select the Delete button next to the device you want to delete. Depending on your organization settings, you may see a check box that says "Don't ask again for n days" when you perform two-factor verification on your browser.
